The Alliance for Excellent Education is a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy organization working to ensure that all at-risk middle and high school students meet challenging academic standards, graduate from high school and are prepared to succeed in college and become productive citizens. The organization aims to make sure that students have quality teachers, in-depth focused learning time, after school and summer school tutoring, counseling that encourages parental involvement, and school environments that encourage achievement.

  • Research and Policy Assistant
    Alliance for Excellent Education

    National policy and advocacy organization seeks experienced, qualified individual to support policy and advocacy efforts related to improving America’s secondary schools. Responsible for managing projects in a fast-paced environment; researching and drafting publications; assisting in the development and communication of  policy recommendations; organizing meetings; serving as liaison with other organizations; and other activities to advance federal policy to reform middle and high schools.


  • Intern
    Alliance for Excellent Education

    The intern will work closely with all members of the policy staff in Alliance efforts and will:

    - Assist staff by conducting legislative research, developing policy fact sheets, tracking federal legislation, and attending congressional hearings and briefings.
    - Provide staff with support in research and analysis of various topics, organizations, and key players in the field.
    - Assist in the development of case studies of promising practices in education.
    - Attend conferences, briefings, and forums as a representative of the Alliance.
    - Assist in the preparation of Alliance publications and events.
    - Keep staff abreast of trends in education reform.
    - Provide any other support to the president and staff as needed.


  • Director of Research

    The Director of Research will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating all research projects at the Alliance for Excellent Education (the Alliance) to help develop and inform federal secondary school policy.
