Lyndsay Pinkus
Lyndsay Pinkus has been continually affiliated with the Alliance since January 2002 in a variety of research, coordination, and advocacy roles on staff and as a consultant. In her current role, Pinkus manages policy and grant work on a range of issues including graduation rates, data, secondary school accountability, and secondary school improvement. She has authored a number of publications for the Alliance, including “In Need of Improvement: NCLB and High Schools”; Who's Counted? Who's Counting? Understanding High School Graduation Rates; and Progress Report on American High Schools 2003–04. Prior to rejoining the staff in January 2006, Pinkus served as a legislative associate at Washington Partners, LLC, providing government relations and policy research and analysis for a variety of clients, including the Alliance. She received a BA in communications, legal studies, economics and government (CLEG) and political science from the School of Public Affairs at American University as a presidential scholar. Pinkus is also a graduate of the Public Affairs and Advocacy Institute at the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies and was a 2005–2006 fellow in the Institute for Educational Leadership’s Education Policy Fellowship Program. She is active in the community serving as a board member, advisor, and volunteer for several local organizations related to education, young professionals, and collegiate development.
